About Valerie

Her story

Val Gold was born Valerie Ann Moss, October 6, 1961, in Manchester England. She moved to Blackpool when she was 11 years old with her Mum, Dad and older brother. By the time she was 16, her professional modeling career was taking shape. Valerie’s first event was for Vidal Sassoon in London.

Val won many beauty pageants including Miss London and had stints on TV as well as lots of print modeling magazine work. She developed into one of the top promotional models and represented various large company’s like Slalom Lager, Matthew Brown, and the English Rugby League for many years.

In 1987, Val emigrated to the United States to start a new life with Dave. Together they founded Go4Gold Soccer Schools and soon became the standard of excellence that all other schools across the country would emulate. Today Val and Dave live in San Jose in the Almaden Valley along with her parents, Gerald and Alice, and brother Nigel.

Valerie and David’s Journey

In addition to duties as the Operations & Marketing Director for the school, Val has actively worked as a Real Estate professional for the past 20 years working with Cornish & Cary Castle View Realty. If that wasn’t enough, she was also responsible for sales and promotions for fashion houses such as: Escada, Thierry Mugler, Donna Karan in coordination with high profile stores including Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Ave and Nordstrom’s.

David was a professional soccer player and coach for the San Jose Earthquakes & Clash, and coached Almaden’s Leland High School for nearly 20 years. During his tenure as the head coach of Leland High School, they won a record 65 matches in 3 years straight and set the national public school unbeaten streak record of 65-0-10, which still stands today. David would lead the school to four CCS Division 1 championships along with 14 league championships along the way. He has the highest level coaching licenses in this country and also a Masters Degree in Physical Education and his B.S. in Sports and Exercise Science.

Many of the kids that have played for David at Leland came through his youth soccer programs and went onto play for some of the top colleges and universities around the country and some even played professionally in the MLS and abroad in Europe. Over the past 5 years David shifted his career focus to pursue his next passion Land Banking. The same level of people skills, hard work, great communication, dedication, and compassion to coaching soccer is now being applied to his Real Estate investment clients.

David and Valerie have been a life team and are now fighting Val’s cancer together with undivided commitment to “win’. Over the years they have helped local schools and foundations with various charity events and fundraising activities raising thousands of dollars. As life takes it unexpected turns creating new challenges, Dave and Val now need your support and encouragement. Thank you!
